Kangaroo Krossing Attendant

San Antonio Zoo is looking to hire an entry-level part-time Kangaroo Krossing Attendant to join our zoo family! Are you a great storyteller? WORK SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
We are a year-round operation; this position requires a flexible schedule to work weekends, holidays, and occasionally after hours for special assignments. Our Kangaroo Krossing work schedule, a rotating weekly schedule, and the hourly rate for this position is $8.82.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN KANGAROO KROSSING ATTENDANT
As a Kangaroo Krossing Attendant, is an entry-level into animal care, you will maintain a safe environment for both the animals and the guests. You will perform various tasks related to the handling and care of animals and their habitats. You will also provide educational information to the public through structured, professional presentations and informal conversations.
You must be fully committed to San Antonio Zoo's mission to create awareness that inspires action to care for the wildlife we steward and the animals we protect. You take pride in knowing your hard work is making a difference in wildlife conservation.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR KANGAROO KROSSING ATTENDANT
  • For the safety of our animals, zoo crew, and guests, you must be able to work safely around delicate, wild, and dangerous animals.
  • Capable of presenting biological and historical information about animals professionally.
  • Associate degree in wildlife management, zoology, biology, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum one-year progressive zookeeping experience in an AZA-accredited facility or similar
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a clean driving record for vehicle operation.
  • Must work in varying climates and weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, or cold).
