Chemical Engineering Associate, Technology and IP Research
Global Prior Art is a boutique consulting firm responsible for conducting comprehensive search and analysis of technical information in support of patent law firms. The Chemistry & Materials group is recruiting candidates with strong background related to chemical engineering, industrial processing, and material science with ability to quickly grasp and interpret new technical information. The role will involve assessing scientific and patent literature used in patent prosecution and competitive intelligence. Ideal opportunity for a career transition into intellectual property. Advanced degree preferred.
Responsibilities
•Provide search and analysis to support patentability, freedom to operate, due diligence and validity analysis to patent practitioners from law firms and biotech/pharma companies
•Exercises independent judgment in formulating search queries and refining search results
•Produce project deliverables within defined timeline, including interactive spreadsheets, written summaries of projects, and slide-based presentations
Preferred Skills And Experience
•Degree in Chemical Engineering with advance coursework covering Chemical Engineering, Industrial Processing, Materials etc. from a leading school (Advanced Degree Preferred)
•Experience in industrial processing, oil and gas refining, polymers, metallurgy, or batteries is a plus
•Intellectual curiosity and ability to rapidly learn about new technical areas
•Ability to review, analyze, and synthesize technical information
•Knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent formats and examining procedures is a plus
