Country: United States
City: New York

Job Description:

About Deutsche Bank:

Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network. We’re driving growth through our strong client franchise. Against a backdrop of increasing globalization in the world economy, Deutsche Bank is very well-positioned, with significant regional diversification and substantial revenue streams from all the major regions of the world. We serve our clients’ real economic needs in commercial banking, investment banking, private banking and asset management. We are investing heavily in digital technologies, prioritizing long term success over short-term gains, and serving society with ambition and integrity. All this means a career packed with opportunities to grow and the chance to shape the future of our clients.

 The Deutsche Bank Internship programme:

At Deutsche Bank, we’re changing what it means to be a bank. We’re looking for creative thinkers who are ready to make a difference from day one. On our internship, you’ll experience what life is like on our Graduate Programme and start developing the skills you need to succeed in finance. You’ll be supported to immediately take on real responsibility on real projects, start building your network and learn from senior leaders across our business. You’ll also see how important diversity and inclusion are to our business and what it means in reality. If you’re looking for a head start in your finance career, this is your chance to learn first-hand how and what we deliver for clients from colleagues leading the industry.

 About the business division:

Group Strategic Analytics is responsible for the development and delivery of quantitative analytics across the entire DB Group. It is comprised of several teams serving the needs of the Investment Bank, the Corporate Bank, as well as a number of internal functions.

The group employs Quantitative Strategists covering all aspects of model development, implementation, and execution. We produce our own analytical frameworks and applications and collaborate with technology and business partners to solve real business problems. Strats play a critical role ensuring the accuracy of our pricing models as well as the integrity and stability of our capital and risk calculations. Strats are also responsible for curating our analytics to provide robust processes driven by data and analysis to enhance our client flows and revenue.

Division specifics about the intern role:

The internship provides a mix of classroom-based training and real hands-on experience. You will begin with one week of dedicated training and then you will be placed directly into a strat team. Throughout your internship, you will be exposed to a responsive, fast-paced and agile culture that partners with the business.

You will use your quantitative and programming skills to make impactful research and implement real solutions. You may find yourself working on one large problem for the entire internship or a series of smaller projects, much as you would do as a full-time member of the team.

During the program, you will have the opportunity to meet with and engage with leaders throughout the strat organization. You will be exposed to the different ways that analytics are employed throughout the bank. Most importantly, you will understand and begin to develop the skills and expertise required to build a successful career with us.

 What we look for:

We recruit highly intelligent individuals who are ambitious and adaptable. Most candidates will have an undergraduate or advanced degree in a quantitative or technical subject (mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, finance). While this degree is not a prerequisite, strong quantitative skills and the ability to express those ideas both verbally and through code are. Our training programs and on-the-job experience will provide you with the guidance you need to grow these skills into a successful career with us. Above all, we’re looking for entrepreneurial people who thrive best in a diverse culture where innovation and agile thinking abound.

You should not only be passionate about the world of finance, but also show a keen interest in your chosen field. You already have a record of outstanding academic achievement and you’re eager to go on learning at the same intensive rate. So you’ll thrive on working in a highly collaborative environment with some of the best minds in banking.
