Intern (Fall 2021)

Monarch Global Strategies seeks a fall semester intern (10 - 20 hours/week depending on student availability and firm needs). The internship will be virtual, reporting through our Washington, DC office. We ask our interns to conduct research (in English and Spanish) for existing and prospective clients and in support of firm leadership (such as preparing for interviews); attend/watch seminars and public presentations, and draft summaries (in English), and; support regular publications. Other similar duties and projects may be assigned as needed. Assignments include both short and long-term projects.

Interns are considered team members and will participate in weekly firm-wide status meetings. They will be supervised by our CFO but will also have direct exposure to our Chairman, a former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, and our CEO, a former Undersecretary of Commerce. All written work will be reviewed and revised in consultation with our CFO before dissemination externally to clients or internally to the Monarch team.

Interest or experience in Latin American economics, politics, international relations and culture (coursework, research, or travel/study) is required. Spanish proficiency (especially the ability to read) is highly desired. Start date and weekly schedule are flexible. Selected applicants will be required to provide written confirmation of eligibility to receive academic credit for the internship prior to issuance of a formal offer.
