STARTING PAY RATE: $22.88 - $25.88 per hour based on a 40-hour workweek. Salary dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $22.88 - $34.86 This position is represented by a union; you may refer to the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement available on our website.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position assists with the implementation of a variety of capital and operational projects related to village facilities; utilizes computer systems, including AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office programs, for various applications; prepares and updates architectural drawings and various exhibits; maintains project record information and other department file management records. Responsible to manage special projects consisting of small capital projects and may serve as site contact and village representative throughout all the phases for design and construction projects.
 
To succeed in this role the ideal candidate will need to effectively and clearly communicate to a full range of people and be capable of prioritizing multiple projects, organize time and resources effectively. We are looking to add a team member motivated by success and to complete work with accuracy.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Associate’s Degree with major coursework in Architecture, Construction Management, Facilities Management or related field, or equivalent vocational certification with major coursework in, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or Facilities Management.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or closely related field preferred.
  3. A minimum of one year of responsible experience or training in CADD, construction, drafting and/or surveying work.
  4. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  5. Proficiency with current computer software systems, including email, calendar programs, job specific software, and customer service systems preferred or within the first six months of employment.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other drafting programs. Working knowledge of building-related services and terminology. Working knowledge of construction methods and materials. Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and comparing them with construction in progress. Ability to establish and maintain good work relationships with co-workers, residents, property owners, contractors, and the public in a professional manner. Knowledge of field data collection devices. Capable of making sound decisions through analytical abilities to resolve complaints, conduct inspections, and to make professional judgments when enforcing departmental policies, procedures, and operations.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Subject to exposure to fumes and disagreeable odors.
  2. Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
  3. High levels of noise for an extended period.
  4. Extremes of temperature for prolonged periods or abrupt changes in temperature.
  5. Prolonged periods of concentration such as computer and hand drafting, calculations, drawings, reading blueprints, etc.
  6. Subject to frequent and/or prolonged bending, stooping, standing, pulling, pushing, or reaching.
