Experienced Spacecraft Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identifying technical problems through application of technical expertise and analysis
  • Providing technical oversight of contractor requirements and development efforts
  • Developing recommendations regarding risk reduction and future performance
  • Leading, organizing, and conducting trade studies, design analyses, and engineering analyses/studies to identify and resolve issues impacting SDL programs and systems
  • Maintaining technical relationships with internal and external customers, technical staff, and management
  • Creating and maintaining programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution
  • Representing SDL and presenting technical information at forums and meetings
  • Leading cross-organizational project teams and mentoring staff

Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a related engineering/technical field
  • Seven years of relevant industry experience or five with a MS degree
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics, spacecraft requirements and subsystems design
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in space vehicle and/or space systems development
  • In-depth familiarity with small satellites (<150kg), systems requirements and subsystems
  • Experience developing technical budgets for small satellites
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance
  • Must be able to travel

  • Experience with AGI’s System Tool Kit (STK)
  • Experience with proposal development
  • Experience testing space hardware
  • Experience leading small teams
  • Systems engineering experience in a DoD environment
  • Understanding of space environment
  • Understanding of risks and risk mitigations for spaceflight systems
  • An active U.S security clearance
