STEM and Coding Instructor

My Coding Place is hiring part-time instructors who love technology and enjoy working with kids. STEM is the future so join us to inspire the next generation!

Hours would be between M-Th 3-6pm and Sat 10-noon for less than 10 hours a week and we are currently looking for teachers with the following skills: Chess, Python, Unity, and/or Photoshop. Willingness to learn is important as you will have the opportunity to teach Raspberry Pi or Microbit workshops.

Job Summary

My Coding Place is looking for passionate instructors to equip students of all ages with tools for solving problems! You will meet incredible students, teach them STEM skills, and be rewarded with an amazing experience. This is a part-time position over the summer and could continue in the fall depending on interest and availability.

Responsibilities

You will be a mentor who teaches kids how to code, play chess, or how to make digital art. At MCP, we have two basic teaching styles - your assignment will depend on schedule, ability, and desire.
  • Lessons. One-to-one or one-on-two coding lessons teaching custom topics. Personalization and customization are strongly encouraged.
  • Classes and Camps. Traditional curriculum based classes with a larger student to teacher ratio, where all students complete the same project.

Requirements

What do we want from you? Read on.
  • Great Communicator. You may be chatting with parents and
  • STEM Skills. Interest in technology is required, as you may introduce students to Robots and Raspberry Pi. Digital Art skills with Photoshop or Blender, or chess experience is helpful.
  • Coding Skills. Grasp of basic procedural programming. Python and Java are most helpful. Deep technical skills aren't required - we prefer you communicate well and find answers along with students.
  • Teaching Experience. Experience tutoring or teaching kids in any subject is a plus.
