Localization Project Manager

The LPM coordinates localization projects to ensure consistency, quality, and efficient turnaround of deliverables.

General Duties

Project Management
  • Organizes and coordinates translation/localization projects.
  • Plans each project schedule and necessary resources and tracks the project schedule status to ensure that project deadlines are met.
  • Performs all work in accordance with the relevant procedures.
  • Works with linguistic assets (TM, TBs, style guides) and implements Translation Memory and any other applicable technology.
  • Participates in resolving problems across various functions and processes and maintains profit margin per work order.
  • Works closely with other key teams/team members such as business development, production, DTP, QC/QA, accounting, etc.
  • Ensures proper QC/QA of the project.
  • Closes jobs and archives files, while ensuring the utmost accuracy.
  • Prepares project reports for management, clients, or others.
  • Performs any other duties delegated by the Department Manager, Operations Manager and the President.
  • Provides scheduled after-hours on call support.

  • Communicates with the client regarding project status and any project related issues (ex. questions from translators, etc.).

Required Qualifications

Localization Project Management
  • 2 years of prior localization project management experience, working on projects that involve language launches, software, creative content and/or subtitle localization.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard localization tools, CAT, TM, TMS and MT tools.
  • Continuous localization workflow experience (product localization) is preferred.
 
Competences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in spoken and written English language. Fluency in a second language (spoken and written).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Soft skills and ability to listen and negotiate.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness
  • Must be willing to work occasional extensive hours to meet client project requirements and provide after-hours on call support when required
