Over the past year, P&G Oral Care delivered double digit-growth with the Floss business been a strong contributor to these overall results. Ensuring continued growth via focus on sustainability is the priority for floss! This is a new role and demonstrates the category focus and commitment to sustainability. It is a great role for an individual with strong technical mastery in either formulation, process or packaging, preferably in a consumer goods industry, and interested in broadening his/her technical skills in the other areas.
 
Company commitments and customer interest in sustainability are driving the unique opportunity to redesign products and packages across our entire floss/floss picks portfolio, This will require innovation and bringing new solutions that leverage the growing capabilities from external suppliers as well as from other P&G business units . While we already have programs focused on recyclability and incorporating recycled plastic in our plastic components, we now need product/package innovation focused on eliminating single use plastic, encouraging re-use/refill approaches as well as leveraging naturally sourced components in our products.
 
IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is an innovation role that will require you to think discontinuously to provide new solutions for sustainability. It provides an exciting opportunity for an individual with a growth mindset and a personal passion to help P&G meet its environmental goals and commitments. It is a global end-to-end role that requires to take the projects through all stages of development from innovation to plant startup and delivery to market.
 
The focus of the work will be mostly floss and floss picks but could eventually include interdental brushes. The overall vision is to create long-term solutions for sustainability, but the scope of the work will provide a balance of short, medium and long-term contributions allowing to support immediate and sustained business growth needs.
 
Job Qualifications
 
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor or Master degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, material science, others can be considered). We are willing to consider individuals from various technical backgrounds – e.g. formulation, process, packaging - who have technical skills/job qualifications that can be leveraged and re-applied to this role as well as are willing to learn and grow into this role.
 
    * Technical mastery and problem solving – has acquired robust technical product or package development skills and demonstrated ability to apply those skills to solve challenging technical problems. Passionate and motivated by sustainability challenges which often require new approaches to product/package design.
    * Growth Mindset – Willingness to develop technical expertise in a new product area as well as penetrate sustainability requirements and evolution. Has demonstrated technical curiosity and desire to grow and learn in a new technical/business area in previous roles. 
    * Technical leadership – Autonomy and ability to create and clearly communicate a technical vision and learning plans as well as project risks and decisions/help needed from others and management in a timely way.
    * Operates with discipline and agility – takes personal responsibility for delivery of projects milestones. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver against commitments and drive work to completion on time with excellence. Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to pivot as needed due to new learning or changing business priorities.
    * Collaboration – Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work seamlessly with diverse technical partners to deliver project needs. This role requires strong collaboration with internal partners (packaging, PS, Purchasing, etc.) and externally with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
 
SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE JOB:
    * Strong experience in at least one of the following technical areas: formulation, process or packaging.
    * Familiarity with digital applications/programs and willingness to learn new digital systems.
    * Experience working in a regulated environment preferred but not required
