Marketing / Communications Student Assistant - Available for Work Study and Non-Work Study Students

JOB SUMMARY: The Texas Performing Arts Marketing Team is looking for a self-starter with a passion for marketing and communications and an interest in performing arts. We want you to assist with copywriting and content generation across social media, email and other digital outlets; help facilitate details of paid media campaigns; occasionally assist with day-of-show press duties; and generally support the day to day operation of the department.

Estimated Hours per Week: 10

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·      Identify and create unique content to share with our diverse audience for consistent messaging across all communications channels 
·      Copywriting for web, email communication and social media
·      Coordinate editorial calendar requests
·      Create and implement student-focused marketing plans for Texas Performing Arts performances
·      Deliver and post marketing collateral on and off campus.
·      Assist in the organization of promotional materials for distribution.
·      Source, create, and schedule content for TPA social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
·      Establish relationships and collaborate with other student organizations on campus; maintain database of local contacts and partners.
·      Research all artists appearing at Texas Performing Arts; attend and contribute in weekly marketing meetings.
·      Assist Graphics Department with print and web ad templates.
· Work with Hook ’em Arts and provide marketing support for their efforts.
·      Attend periodic Hook ‘em Arts meetings
·      Update various web calendar listings.
·      Help update and manage media assets.
·      Assist with coordinating media at various performances
·      Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
·      Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.
·      Dress appropriately for work in a casual, yet professional environment.
 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·      Previous experience in marketing, communications, and social media.
·      Working knowledge of Mac OS and Microsoft Office.
·      A valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
·      Current pursuit of a Business, Marketing, Communications, or Fine Arts degree.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·      Writing
·      Website maintenance experience.
·      Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
·      Active involvement with Hook ‘em Arts.
·      Ability to take initiative
