Minerals Audit Internship

Position: Minerals Audit Internship (2 Positions)

Time Period: Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022 Semester

Schedule: Part-time, 12-15 hours/week (up to 170 hours per semester or 340 hours for two semesters)

Classification: Paid internship through your school ($16 - $18 per hour). Optional credit through university course may be arranged by the student.

General Job Description: This position is with the Energy Resources program area. The internship role is to perform routine (journey-level) clerical work in areas such as bookkeeping, inventory control, statistics, employment, human resources, purchasing, mail processing, and accounting. Work involves compiling and organizing data, checking documents for accuracy, documenting work papers, and maintaining files. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Job Elements: Assists in conducting oil and gas royalty audits, limited reviews and risk assessments, issuing engagement letters, preparing interview notes, gathering and analyzing data, performing tests, writing and organizing work papers, preparing findings and writing reports. Assists in performing research, preparing written documentation on work performed and verifying information. Assists in compiling, filing, documenting and maintaining accurate and complete records. Assists in editing field site video inspections. Performs some of the essential duties of Energy Resources, Minerals Audit and assist with other projects as needed.
