COMMUNICATIONS INTERN (PAID)
Landmarks, The Public Art Program of The University of Texas at Austin
Appointment: By semester. 10 hours/week, flexible within M-F 9-5pm
$12 per hour
 
Overall purpose of the position:
This position is responsible for assisting Landmarks Digital Content Coordinator with a variety of public relations and marketing initiatives, including: assembling and documenting press coverage, creating and scheduling social media, drafting blog posts, as assigned, and promoting Landmarks’ events both online and at in-person events—pending the university’s COVID guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
 
Public Relations and Marketing:
•          Post Landmarks’ events to university and community online calendars
•          Represent Landmarks at events on and off campus, as assigned (pending COVID guidelines)
•          Develop content for Landmarks’ social media channels, in coordination with Digital Content         Coordinator, and schedule posts via HootSuite
•          Develop strategies to increase social media engagement with student audiences
•          Regularly track and report analytics for Landmarks’ online channels
•          Maintain press book and clippings archive
•          Track inventory of printed maps and other brochures and oversee distribution
•           Draft blog content, as assigned
•           Assist with developing monthly eNews
•           Assist with research, as assigned
•           Additional duties as assigned
 
Photography and Video:
•          Maintain Landmarks Photo & Video Archive in accordance with cataloguing protocol
•          Maintain Smugmug, Landmarks’ digital image repository
•          
Qualifications:
•          Undergraduate or graduate student
•          Strong writing and verbal communication skills
•           Adept in social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc) and experience crafting messages to     engage different audiences
•          Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
•          Enthusiasm to learn new things
