We support all students as they form bridges between their career visions and potential employers, resources, opportunities, and organizations. Purpose
Working closely with the Texas Education Career Engagement team, the successful candidate will support high-quality service, marketing, and career education to students, staff, faculty, and employers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Career Peer, 10-15 hours a week you will…

·     Coach students one-on-one about résumé development and interviewing, offering solid actionable suggestions for improvement.
·     Promote and represent TECE throughout the College of Education and participate in career events and presentations.
·     Provide ideas and feedback to Career Engagement Coordinator in regards to student needs and requests for career services/programs/workshops.
·     Become an advanced user of the digital job board platform, Handshake. Assist in regular administrative maintenance and provide user experience feedback.
·     Assist in creating content for the TECE Instagram account and Career Bulletins.
·     Demonstrates openness, inclusiveness, sensitivity, and the ability to interact respectfully with all people. Understand individuals’ differences and help with the targeted development and outreach of resources and services.
·     Participate in regular trainings and development activities to promote team building and collaboration, as well as individual development.
 
Qualifications
·     Have an interest in coaching college students, marketing, and/or higher education (no prior experience necessary)
·     Demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
·     Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
·     Ability to show up on time for regular shifts
·     Available to work 10-15 hours per week, for shifts averaging 2-4 hours in length between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
