Job Description:

The Dean School of Education serves as the key liaison and College spokesperson for the School and provides strong leadership for Education through: strategic planning; program development, review, and revision; resource development; innovation; faculty development; and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The Dean has a strong external focus, which includes establishing and fostering connections with external entities related to Education. The position advances strategic enrollment, student success, college completion, job placement and ensures a successful transfer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

•Actively collaborates with Campus Presidents, Deans of Faculty, and Deans of Faculty and Student Services to develop and implement strategic enrollment management initiatives; meets or exceeds performance targets for student recruitment, enrollment, completion, and job placement in programs associated with Education
•Collaborates with the Deans of Faculty in the initiation of cross-disciplinary innovation; program development, review, and close-out (as appropriate); ensures program relevancy
•Creates and secures partnerships that meet or exceed established target goals related to increasing the number of paid student internships, grant awards, and other resources for Education
•Leads the strategic advancement of the unit’s internal and external reporting structures, including annual effectiveness reports, discipline action plans, accreditation reports, grant reports and strategic enrollment management plans, in consultation with the members of the College’s executive leadership team to ensure alignment with college-wide priorities

Minimum Requirements  

•Doctorate in Education and six (6) years of senior level experience in higher education; or Master’s degree in Education and seven (7) years of senior level experience in higher education
•Knowledge of college educational philosophy and top management administrative practices and procedures
•Knowledge of college curricula and instructional programs
•Knowledge of workforce and academic trends in early childhood and secondary education 
•Knowledge of regional and program-specific accreditation requirements, processes and criteria
•Skill in employee development and performance management
•Ability to develop and interpret financial data/plans and manage resources
