Who we are: Wildebeest is a New York-based digital strategy and brand marketing agency, focused on growing companies that are reinventing the way we experience and move about the world. Our clients sit at the intersection of travel, hospitality, tech, and sustainability, across both consumer and enterprise. We provide clients with organic marketing foundations built on Content Marketing, SEO, Digital PR, and Brand Strategy. 

Wildebeest was founded in 2019 by Jared Alster and Tom Buckley. Prior to founding the agency, Jared and Tom have held multiple client-side executive positions at leading travel and technology brands, as well as agency roles at Ogilvy & Mather and Melt Digital. 

What we are looking for: Wildebeest is seeking an intern for Summer 2021. Our ideal candidate is a motivated, enthusiastic person who can adapt to a fast-paced work environment with little oversight.
The Business Development intern is a strategic thinker with a real appetite for creative selling. You will know the difference between selling a creative, consultative proposition and selling a product. We’re looking for someone passionate about digital marketing. A keen interest in the travel and hospitality industry is also desired. You will be working at the most dynamic end of our business – bringing new leads into the pipeline and managing our reputation with new prospects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Execute biz dev outreach strategy through new business prospecting, utilizing all available channels (LinkedIn, email, telephone, events).
  • Set a framework for approaching new prospects - obtain deep understanding of company and key contacts; create a comprehensive profile of each prospect
  • Maintain CRM (Hubspot) with a keen focus on data hygiene 
  • Create and maintain agency events calendar
  • Attend new business conference calls, compiling detailed notes for follow up 
  • Participate in link building outreach for existing travel client projects 
  • Ad hoc tasks at direction of co founders
 

About you:


  • Past success in business development, sales, or marketing internship/role
  • Currently attending an accredited university; in process of obtaining degree in general business, hospitality, marketing, or media studies
  • Past experience building and managing prospect databases
  • Proven interest in the business of travel & hospitality and/or startups 
  • Strong business writing skills 
  • Self-motivated - ability to understand a project goal and then execute independently to achieve it
  • Articulate & confident communicator – ability to think quickly and creatively when talking to prospects
  • A basic understanding of digital marketing and the role it plays in customer acquisition 

Performance based remuneration will be offered to applicable candidates.
