Personal Trainer (Non-Work Study & Work Study Available)


Personal trainers provide safe, positive and effective workouts through their work with RecSports personal training clients. As a personal trainer, you will teach clients effective workouts, deliver excellent customer service, educate on exercise performance and regularly prepare personalized exercise programs for each client.

This role requires consistent and strong verbal and non-verbal communication to communicate with clients regarding scheduling appointments and their progress and to demonstrate safe and effective fitness techniques. As a personal trainer, you will also be expected to participate in staff training sessions, fitness workshops, meetings, and peer-to-peer evaluations. The program will also rely on you to conduct thorough inspections of equipment and programmatic needs. Candidates who are hired for the position are required to carry a training load minimum of two regularly scheduled clients per semester.

Pay rate: $16.75-$25.75 dependent on certification(s) and years of training experience.
Start Date: January 2023
Employment location: Various RecSports facilities 

Prerequisites: 
  • Must be currently certified in CPR and AED. Acceptable certifications include American Heart Association and American Red Cross (any other certification must be approved by the hiring manager).
  • Must be currently certified through a nationally accredited (NCCA) body. Acceptable organizations include:
  • American Council on Exercise (ACE): Certified Personal Trainer or higher
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA): Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM): Certified Personal Trainer or higher
  • National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM): Certified Personal Trainer
