Pool Attendant

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Pool Attendant to join our team! The primary responsibilities of the Pool Attendant are: 

As part of the role, the chosen candidate will operate as the sites’ swim instructor 
Is required to teach within the current swim program, which includes; four swim levels and one to one classes 
The sites’ swim instructor will be responsible for the development of the swim program 
Will be responsible for the swim program administration duties 
Maintain a high standard of supervision of the swimming pool to ensure the highest standard of safety for the bather/swimmers in the pool 
Must be comfortable working as part of a team and reporting to their Supervisor and Site Manager on a daily basis 
Ensure hourly cleaning checks, headcount checks and other operational duties are fulfilled throughout the working day 
Must record and perform pool water/chemical checks where required to ensure the utmost health and safety and hygiene is maintained within the pool facility 
Must log all relevant information while also ensuring logs are stored and filed correctly along with other administrational duties when required 
Have the ability to identify hazards or and their potential risk that they may pose and be able to address them accordingly and efficiently 
Must assist with daily cleaning operations of the facility including; toilets, changing rooms and pool deck upon opening & closing 
In the event of an accident drowning situation or swimming accidents, must be able to act accordingly and perform rescues/CPR/First aid when required either alone or as part of a team 
Must record and perform pool water/chemical checks where required to ensure the utmost health, safety and hygiene within the pool facility while also ensuring logs are stored and filed correctly
The Ideal Candidate would have: 

Relevant / RLSS / Irish Water Safety Lifeguard Certification (Must be in date) 
Relevant Lifeguarding experience is essential - Relevant IWS / Swim Ireland 
Swim Instructor Certification is essential. 
Relevant swim teaching experience essential. 
Must complete mandatory Pool Lifeguard competency test (Lifesaving skills, CPR, first Aid)
Swim Coaching Certification added bonus. 
Triathlon coaching experience added bonus. 
Experience in managing/developing and coordinating a swim program added bonus. 
Must demonstrate excellent swimming skills and must also demonstrate practical Lifeguarding skills 
Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Administration skills added bonus (Google docs / sheets / slides) 
Exceptional customer service skills with proven track record 
Ability to work individually on own initiative and as part of a team.
