Principal HR Technology Analyst (ServiceNow HR Portal)

Xcel HR is embarking on a dynamic journey to introduce these new technologies by way of a phased implementation over the course of the next two years, and we’re building a team of talented, energetic, visionary people to take us through implementation and beyond to ongoing management of our technology stack. 
 
The ServiceNow HR Application Lead will be critical to our employee experience strategy as we implement Onboarding, Case Management, Knowledge and Document Management. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to numerous groups within HR and IT to ensure optimal adoption of ServiceNow capabilities. You’ll demonstrate your deep knowledge of ServiceNow and act as our internal ServiceNow product lead (SME), which involves being a technical leader/internal project manager across all aspects of ServiceNow development, governance and solution delivery. You’ll also liaise with the broader team supporting our HR and IT systems to ensure effective integration with other technologies, including the critical intersections with Workday and our ServiceNow IT portal. This is a highly visible role for an effective consultant, able to engage with HR CoEs and present opportunities for ServiceNow functionality to support and enhance HR processes and initiatives.
 
What you’ll do
  • Manage and maintain configuration of ServiceNow processes within the HR portal as it relates to workflows, case management, knowledge base and documentation, coordinating and aligning with IT as needed
  • Identify intersections between technologies and groups; ensure intersections are accounted for in design decisions and testing
  • Own the overall employee experience, portal design, content layout and style guidelines, collaborating with IT portal partners as needed
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across the broad project team
  • Act as change agent and advocate for ServiceNow; generate excitement and address concerns; research ServiceNow capabilities and develop expertise
  • Support development of Xcel’s ServiceNow’s HR roadmap
  • Ensure processes are aligned with compliance requirements, audit practices and overall governance strategy
  • Investigate and troubleshoot application and underlying system issues, identify root causes, and determine and document solutions
  • Coordinate and support internal IT partners and vendor engagement through project implementations, product releases and updates, as well as production issues
  • Streamline business processes through automation and align processes with technology
  • Provide technical and functional support including system maintenance, reports, queries, interfaces and security
  • Document processes to ensure ease of reference 
  • Partner with the ServiceNow Content Governance Specialist and content owners/subject matter experts across HR to create a transition strategy for existing content that needs knowledge articles within the ServiceNow HR portal. 
  • Partner with HR Operations and other internal groups to ensure appropriate process documentation exists in the knowledge base.
  • Support development and subsequent execution of Knowledge governance policy
  • Support development and maintenance of training and communications materials
  • Analyze data and information to recommend, create and carry out data analysis and process improvement opportunities; oversee the metrics strategy; reviews metrics and cascade metrics to stakeholders.
  • Research system functionality and product roadmap to ensure maximum utilization of technology solutions
  • Promote the strategic vision for technology, and integrate processes with overall technology strategy
  • Drive the execution of our technology roadmap that enhances HR value offerings through expanded capability, increased ease of use and user adoption, and greater efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Partner with SMEs and peers internally, and vendors externally, to improve processes and gain efficiencies
 
What we look for

  • At least 8 years of experience working directly with HCM solutions to support business/HR objectives and activity, including administration of configuration and system set-up
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with technology solutions preferred
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with ServiceNow, including configuration and development preferred
  • ServiceNow HR solutions experience strongly preferred
  • System implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Workday/Kronos experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; the ability to convey technical concepts to those without technical backgrounds. 
  • A highly collaborative approach to tackling work; ability to build trust and establish credibility; an orientation to building and nurturing cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to influence without authority at all levels and across all areas of the organization.
  • Effective project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent strands of a project, track status and project milestones and provide timely updates to stakeholders.

  • Analytical thinker with the ability to understand problems, determine root causes and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
 
During COVID-19 Pandemic this position may require the ability to temporarily work remote within the company service territory until company protocol dictates return to the office criteria has been met.
