Together, we cultivate new scientific leaders and expand the frontiers of knowledge to deliver medical breakthroughs to better human health around the globe. If you have a passion for making a difference, this could be your opportunity to join our transformative team.

POSITION TITLE:   Postdoctoral Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Davis Lab in the Department of Neuroscience at the Scripps Research Institute (http://www.scripps.edu/davis) is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to our studies of learning, memory, and forgetting. We employ a multilevel analysis of learning and memory processes that includes genetic manipulations, molecular and cellular biology, immunohistochemistry, confocal and super-resolution microscopy, anatomical tracing of circuits, functional cellular imaging of memory traces, and behavioral measurements of learning and memory. A major focus of our research at this point in time is on the molecular mechanisms for active forgetting, and the functions of genes that limit memory formation (memory suppressor genes). Consult our recent publications on these topics for more information. These studies are pursued using Drosophila melanogaster as the primary organism.

The specific project opportunities will be discussed in detail at the interview stage. To apply, send your current CV directly to Dr. Ron Davis (rdavis@scripps.edu).
