Aquatics Coordinator - TownLake

Aquatics Program Coordinator you will assist with the day-to-day operation of swim lessons and aquatics programs. You will support the development of swim lessons instructors to ensure high-quality programs for all. You have the availability to work Monday - Thursday, 4-7 pm, and Saturdays, 9 am-12:00 pm. You will serve as Deck Manager when not teaching swim lessons

What are the details? 
Leadership
  • Create a positive and motivational environment for swim lesson instructors
  • Provide leadership and coaching to swim instructor team
  • Lead monthly swim instructor in-service training along with Aquatics Director
  • Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints promptly utilizing written and verbal communication, including phone and face-to-face
Administrative Support
  • Create staffing schedule for swim lesson instructors, ensuring staff work within the required limit of hours (28 hours/week yearly staff and 40 hours/week for seasonal)
  • Print and manage rosters for monthly swim lessons
  • Send welcome emails out to parents at the beginning of each month
  • Send reminder emails to parents about registering for the next session
  • Update pool availability in Motion Vibe for pool space needed for lessons
  • Ensure swim lesson instructors are following the v6 curriculum and using swim lesson skill progress trackers.
  • Ensure swim lesson instructors provide progress trackers, report cards, and certificates to participants.
People Management
  • Administer swim test to all potential new hire swim lesson instructors; Assist Aquatics Director with the interview process for potential new swim instructors.
  • Train, develop, and support swim lesson instructors
  • Monitor and update all required staff certifications, keeping them on file in the Aquatics Office
  • Address complaints and uses conflict resolution techniques to solve staff problems
  • Audit staff to ensure the continued quality of the swim lesson program
Fiscal Management
  • Ensure all swim lessons meet the minimum number of participants. Work with Aquatics Director to combine classes when minimum numbers are not met.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the staff member must be able to sustain long periods of active work. Ability to conduct one-on-one training, small or large group classes, and activities that last up to an hour or so in duration. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including sitting, talking, typing on a computer, leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting weights or objects of 50-75lbs. safely. (I.E. weights, some light machinery within the fitness center, etc.). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

What you bring to the Purpose: 
  • Education & Experience: You have a High School Diploma or GED and have experience in Aquatics programming.  Competitive swimming, coaching, and supervisory experience are a plus. You are committed to obtaining the following certificates: 
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 30-days of hire. 
  • Red Cross Lifeguard certifications within 90 days of hire
  •  Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer certification within 6 months of hire

Pay Rate: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience
