Business Development Associate

Lantha Sensors™ is seeking a motivated business development associate who is ready to apply knowledge of business and sales practices and processes in a technical and fast-paced environment. The business development associate (BDA) will assist with market and customer discovery, conducting market research, effectively communicating technical information to and from customers, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. The BDA will report to the VP of Business Development.
 
Business Development Associate Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supporting VP of Business Development in all business development activities. These include primarily: lead generation, customer communication, and account management
  • Obsessive focus on customer delivery that contributes to revenue generation
  • On a daily basis, populate and maintain a healthy BD pipeline; maintain the company’s customer relationship process and provide regular updates to the management team
  • Work as an integral team player in the company’s customer delivery process with focus on lead generation, service delivery, and account management
  • Work with leadership to coordinate effective marketing automation campaigns and targeted outreach efforts
  • Attend trade shows (handle travel logistics, engage with attendees on the floor, generate solid leads)
  • Investigate various distribution channels including strategic geographic distributors and value-added resellers
  • Support leadership in the refinement of company’s technology roadmap
  • Coordinate demonstration campaigns
  • Help launch new initiatives
  • Contribute to improvement of customer delivery processes and planning; continual focus on data driven process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively problem-solve; contribute to plan and design of business processes
  • May perform a range of additional requirements as needed
 
Requirements
Core Requirements:
  • B.A. or M.A. in Business Administration or related major.
  • Alternatively, B.S. in Chemistry, Biology or Engineering
  • Experience with Office Suite and Customer Resource Management platforms
  • Excellent critical and innovative thinking as well as problem-solving skills
  • Go-getter attitude
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a commercial role (highlight customer interface)
  • Technical service or sales experience with analytical instrumentation is a plus
  • Proven track record of efficient use of CRM tools for customer discovery and lead generation
