Library Service Specialist - Freeman Branch Library (Part-Time)

The Library Service Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end customer service experience by connecting customers with the information they seek. Perform circulation tasks. Support innovative programs. Demonstrate knowledge on all library operations and deliver an exceptional customer service experience. Exemplify the high standards and expectations for the library system in its daily operations and services.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides circulation and basic reference service within and beyond our walls
  • Promotes library services to the community
  • Accurately enters data, handles sensitive customer information, and handles cash transactions
  • Maintains and promotes an engaging and attractive library collection
  • Attends staff meetings, activities, and/or professional conferences, and actively serves on committees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Minimum of six (6) months of customer service experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment
  • Ability to work well with public and staff members
  • Proficient with Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Proficient with the Internet and Office 365
  • Must use your personal mobile device for our Multifactor Authentication process

LOCATION:
  • Freeman Branch Library: 16616 Diana Lane, 77062
 
HOURS:
  • Part-Time; 20 Hours a Week
  • Typical shifts are Day, Evening, Nights, Weekends, etc
 
SALARY:
  • Paid Biweekly
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods
