Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) has had a long-standing internship, co-op, and summer student program where we've given hands-on experiences to college students (many of whom have come back to work for us full time). This spring, Central San is also hosting a *virtual* week-long externship program for students and recent graduates from colleges and universities all over the country. Our cohort-style learning experience is designed as an insider look at multiple career paths in the wastewater industry and an opportunity to make connections, not only with established staff at Central San but also with fellow externs. The program is highly customizable and can go over any specific careers or departments the externs might be interested in.

JOIN US THIS SPRING FOR OUR VIRTUAL PROGRAM!
Our Spring 2022 session will be a five-day event from March 14 to March 18, held online from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. PST every day, including a one-hour lunch break. Each of the five sessions will be an engaging and interactive introduction to our various departments and what types of careers our agency (exemplifying a public sector employer) can provide. Our staff will take you through a day in their lives, how they came to Central San, and what they enjoy about their jobs. Throughout the week, you will get to know all our departments - from administration, to engineering, to our plant operations - in a convenient and fun atmosphere with your peers from across the country.

This October, depending on the status of the pandemic, Central San hopes to host a cohort of externs in person for in-person experiential learning through job shadowing and tours of our facilities.

Everyone is welcome to join. The more externs we have, the merrier! Please fill out our online registration form to sign up by March 11.
