We are seeking Interns that will assist with one or more aspects of the Alliance's projects and/or administration, including website, newsletter, member emails, meetings, workshops, blogs, podcasts, resources, communications, e-Book, public policy, networking, social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok and blogging), fundraising, grant-writing, database, crowd-funding campaign, SHE Kindness Campaign (Sustainability, Health, Equity and Kindness) and its School, Business and Policy Programs.

At present we have four work teams and have interns participate on one or more of them, usually with one or more specific areas of focus:
 
1.      Program – Focused on our SHE Kindness Campaign (Sustainability, Health, Equity and Kindness) personal and organizational transformation, campaigns, public policies, school presentations, business presentations, e-Books and resources, and curriculum development
2.      Development and Advancement – Grant research and writing, fundraising, crowd-funding (GoFundMe and Kickstarter) and Sustainability Partners
3.      Communications and Marketing – Website, e-Newsletter, social media, graphic design and blog posts; and
4.      Administration - Database, finances, reporting, HR and cyber security

This is an outstanding opportunity to both learn about the internal operations of a nonprofit and make a big difference in the world, while also opening up possibilities for employment with the Alliance and references for other jobs.

Candidates should have a knowledge of sustainability, a commitment to practicing sustainability, health, equity and kindness, excellent writing and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively. They will work remotely and need to be self-motivated and responsible.

This is an unpaid remote position but we will provide invaluable experience, connections and references. If you are seeking academic credit, please get approval from your school. If adequate funds are raised there is the possibility of it becoming a paid internship or even a regular staff position. The position can begin at any time based on our availability. If it is during the school year it is expected you will work 10-15 hours a week for a semester. If it is over the summer it would be 15-40 hours a week. The times of work are flexible except for two weekly staff meetings. The intern will work with the President and other staff. Please indicate in your cover letter when you would be able to start and when you'd finish. Finally, if you work adequate hours you can qualify to receive a President’s Volunteer Service Award.
