Lifeguard (Non-Work Study & Work Study available)

As a lifeguard, you’ll provide oversight for the six pools that make up the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex and our swimmers, helping enforce all policies and procedures to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Lifeguards play a critical role in guiding participants to safe behavior, intervene when necessary to maintain safety and perform any required rescues. In addition, lifeguards conduct routine inspections of equipment and programmatic needs to continue to improve the participant experience. In this role, you will develop lifeguarding technical skills and you will use your problem solving, flexibility and adaptability skills to resolve issues and challenges.

Holding a First Aid/CPR/AED or Lifeguarding certification for this position conveys a duty to act in the event of a medical emergency while on shift. In the unlikely event of an emergency, social distancing requirements may be disrupted in order to provide the proper care to participants. 

Prerequisite: Current American Red Cross™ certification or other qualifying certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency including Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid. 

Pay rate: $11.25/hour 
Start Date: January 2023
