Remote Camera Operator

BROADCASTING AND MEDIA
 
The Falmouth Commodores is one of ten Cape Cod League Baseball teams, the preeminent summer collegiate baseball league in the United States. Scouts from all major league teams attend games and many players are ultimately drafted to play in the MLB. The Commodores are looking for summer interns to work in Broadcasting and Media for the 2022 season. If you are an enthusiastic team player who thrives in an environment where collaboration, creativity, and teamwork are encouraged, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
 
REMOTE CAMERA OPERATOR – Essential Functions
(ONE POSITION – unpaid internship)
 
·        Operate up to four remote-control video cameras for all broadcasts.
·        Taking direction from the Video Director, operate and manage the designated remote camera to ensure seamless video coverage of game action.
·        Ensure that the associated equipment is setup and running optimally. 
·        Troubleshoot and work through technical challenges.
·        Coordinate with the broadcasters and the others on the Video Production Team produce a seamless broadcast.
·        Work closely with others on the Broadcasting and Media team on creative content.


Skills Required

●        Individuals should have a proven interest in broadcast production and sports.
●        A well-rounded understanding of the game of baseball is required.
●        Familiarity with video production equipment (e.g. switchers, mixers, decoders, field and remotely operated cameras, YouTube and WireCast) is highly desired.
●        Preference will be given to college students who have broadcast, journalism and media-related majors and have been actively involved in media and sports programs
●        Applicants should be good multitaskers and fast learners, as they may from time to time serve in multiple video production team roles, or in roles other than their primary assigned roles.
●        Applicants should be able to remain patient throughout technical difficulties and troubleshooting.
●        Applicants must be able to turn around high-quality content quickly and with minimal oversight and supervision.
●        Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred.
 
Other requirements
 
●        Must provide own housing.
●        Must provide own transportation to away games (gas allowance provided by organization). Car-pooling to away games with media interns is strongly encouraged.
