Long-Term Substitute: K-5 Special Education Teacher - Online Teaching
Duration:
Anticipated for the full 2020-2021 school year.
Qualifications:
Current PA Elementary Education Certification (K-6 or PK-4) and Special Education Certification required. Proficiency in online platforms (e.g. schoology, google classroom) preferred. Strong technology skills are required to assist students virtually.
Responsibilities:
This position will involve teaching and supporting students with IEPs in Cougar Academy, Palmyra's online cyber school for students in grades K-5. Responsibilities include direct teaching of academic areas (Math & ELA) as well as social skills in a differentiated learning environment. Support for regular education classes, as outlined in an IEP, will also be provided. The successful applicant will be responsible for IEP development, progress monitoring, IEP meetings, frequently communicating with families, and working collaboratively with Cougar Academy and PASD teachers. This position involves a combination of in-person meetings and availability for hybrid instruction.
