Fundraising/Development Intern

THE ROLE 
Achilles International is currently seeking an Intern to join our team for Fall 2020. He/She will support our fundraising strategy. The Development Intern, reporting to the Director of Development, will be responsible for researching foundation and corporate funding sources. They will help prepare, edit, and record grant applications and supporting materials. They will also assist in planning fundraising events and manage filing and database entry. The ideal applicant will possess a keen interest in the non-profit sector and in issues around inclusion and accessibility. We are searching for a college undergraduate who is available to work remotely for 6-10 hours a week during the Fall term. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 
Researching peer organizations’ funding
Researching corporations and foundations to identify giving interests
Drafting grant applications and compiling attachments
Updating the grant calendar to reflect new applications
Adding contacts to Achilles International’s donor database, NetSuite
Maintaining digital files 
Organizing recording of outreach to, and communication with, current and potential donors

QUALIFICATIONS 
Excellent oral and written communication
