STUDENT ANALYST - STUDENT ASSISTANT-R&D - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Job Summary:

Join our Space Science Division as an Intern! Receive training, guidance and mentoring from the information Technology group. The team's functions include computing work involving configuration of systems, troubleshooting, and resolving computer issues. We are supporting a team of scientists, engineers and associated staff involved in the space research. Frequent interfacing with team and SWRI staff is a major component of the internship. The intern will be resonsible for supporting and troubleshooting issues on Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms. Local year-round student position.


Education/Experience:

Must be pursuing a BS in Information Technology, Math, Computer Science or related. This role is open to Freshman through Senior level BS students at a local university. Experience with Windows, Macintosh, Linux computer systems and administration, Ethernet/IP networks is preferred. Knowledge or interest and aptitude to learn IT concepts is required. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to succeed in a team environment. Must have strong written communication skills for documenting work and writing reports. Must be able to interface with other staff and management on occasion. Must have an interest in information technology which is the field in which our team specializes in. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10, MacOSX, and/or Linux and Microsoft Office would be a plus but not required.


Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
