STUDENT TECHNICIAN - MECHANICAL

Job Summary:

Join the Applied Power Division as a Student Technician. As a member of our team, you will work alongside technicians and engineers on various tasks that may include fabrication, electronics, machining, carpentry, welding and other related trades. Other duties may include CNC Machining, metal fabrication, mechanic related project-work, and related functions. Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications to test experiments and laboratory equipment.


Education/Experience:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be pursuing a vocational program or an Associates Degree related to any of the following trades: Automotive, Mechanics, CNC Machining, Metal Fabrication, Electronics, Welding, or related. Must have a strong desire to learn and follow directions from senior personnel. Must have a 3.0 GPA. Must have great organizational and communication skills. Must be able to succeed in a team environment. Must have an interest in learning new skills and operational procedures. academic coursework working with power tools/metal is required. Must be 18 years or older. A local student is preferred for this position. A valid/clear driver’s license is required.


Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
