Ecologist/Wetland Scientist
NPV currently has an opening for an Ecologist/Wetland Scientist to join our Long Island office to assist with wetland permitting, delineation, habitat assessments, restoration and mitigation projects involving both freshwater and marine habitats, coastal consistency evaluations and ecological investigations throughout Long Island and the NY metro area. Bachelor of Science degree in environmental sciences, wildlife management, biology or closely related field and experience are pre-requisites for this position. Graduate degree, NYS botany/wildlife/wetland identification skills, strong technical writing capabilities, working knowledge of land use regulations including wetland regulations and SEQRA environmental regulations, and proficiency with GIS and AutoCAD are positive attributes for this candidate. Candidates should demonstrate strong work ethic and attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and accomplish multiple tasks. Full-time and part-time opportunities would be considered. Salary commensurate with experience.
