Health Insurance Enrollment Specialist
Temporary Position: September – December 2020

Prosper Health Coverage is a program of Foundation Communities. The goal of the Prosper Health Coverage program is to help community members enroll in affordable health insurance through the federal Marketplace and use their insurance to access care. Each year, we hire a team of temporary staff to help us enroll thousands of community members in health insurance during the six-week Open Enrollment period from November 1 to December 15.

A key position on the team this year is the Health Insurance Enrollment Specialist. The team of Enrollment Specialists will provide health insurance education and enrollment services in English, Spanish, and other languages. Paid training is provided; no prior experience with health insurance is required.

Job Responsibilities
·      Provide client assistance and support by phone
·      Assist with determining client eligibility for Marketplace plans and Marketplace financial assistance
·      Educate clients on the Marketplace application, health coverage terminology and plan options
·      Help clients quickly and accurately enroll in Marketplace health insurance
·      Follow privacy procedures to protect clients’ personal identifiable information
·      Enter client information accurately in the program database
·      Other duties as assigned

·      Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
·      Ability to provide superior customer service by phone to clients with diverse identities and needs
·      Ability to engage with under-served and under-represented populations
·      Ability to be flexible, learn quickly and multi-task
·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
·      Accurate, efficient and detail-oriented,
·      Comfortable using technology

Full-time and part-time hours are available, with options for daytime, evening, and weekend hours. The position pays $16/hour.  Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, Enrollment Specialists will be expected to work from home, though the program will provide necessary training and equipment. The timeline for this position is late September to December 2020, with an opportunity to transition to a part-time or full-time temporary position on our tax team from January to April 2021 for those who are interested and meet necessary qualifications.
