Patient Safety Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
Assist PSO team and clients with data analytics; assimilate clinical content for patient safety tool development, various publications, and advisories; assume project management roles with clients and internal projects; provide training demonstrations and educational presentations for clients; and assist with research to support consulting and assessment projects of the Patient Safety Team.

General Performance Standards (Job Expectations):

Project Management
Ø Manage client projects as assigned.
Ø Work with PSO senior analysts and other ECRI experts to identify solutions to patient safety issues.
Ø Engage clients in conversations about their safety priorities and what keeps them up at night.
Ø Establish regular communications (e.g., monthly or quarterly check-ins) and encourage clients to reach out to you personally with safety concerns. Reach out to clients where you feel your involvement could make a difference.
Ø Attend meetings with ECRI Institute internal project teams, as needed to facilitate and troubleshoot technical or client issues.
Ø Handle other duties as assigned by the Associate Director

Analysis
Ø Analyze client patient safety reports and summarize findings per contractual obligations.
Ø Analyze PSO aggregate data to contribute to PSO publications including Patient Safety Briefs and others.
Ø Review and analyze client engagement data including web content utilization.

Research and Development
Ø Research literature for evidence base for topic-specific standards, professional guidelines, and best practices to assist clients with patient safety issues.
Ø Assist in development of assigned standards, tools, protocols, processes and knowledge-transfer mechanisms for PSO deliverables.
Ø Assist in the research of topic-specific standards, professional guidelines, and best practices to support consulting projects for PSO clients. 
Ø Assist with creating training materials for PSO
Ø Write at appropriate levels for the intended audiences (administrators, clinicians, patients)
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

·       Minimum experience of 1-3 years’ experience in a hospital, long term care or outpatient healthcare setting.
·       Must demonstrate clinical data analysis and problem solving experience.
·       Must demonstrate writing, presentation and analysis skills. 
·       Must be well organized in approaches, systematic and meticulous in attending to detail and possess excellent customer service and presentation skills.
·       Requires computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Visio®, Power Point®.
·       Ability to communicate with diverse groups.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other clinical patient care subject. Knowledge of patient safety, quality and/or risk management Federal Acts and regulations, programs and professional standards.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office 2016+
