Database Administrator Fellow

LOCATION:           Boston, MA
STATUS:                 Grant Funded Contract Position Full Time – 9-month position

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Database Administrator Fellow will provide day-to-day support and guidance to end users to enhance and increase their knowledge of United Way's Financial Coaching Salesforce database, as well as other connected application systems. The Fellow will be expected to develop an understanding of United Way’s financial opportunity programs and how the database can support and strengthen these programs. As part of this fellowship, the database administrator will receive support in learning the Salesforce Administrator role with to goal of having their ADM201 certification by the end of the fellowship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support, Training and User Adoption
  • ○  Set up new users and maintain access permissions settings. Maintain role hierarchies and sharing rules to restrict access to users
  • Host basic on-boarding trainings with all new agencies using the platform
  • Manage a knowledge base system (Training Videos, Documentation, etc.)
  • Provide “office hour” support for coaches learning how to use the system
  • Monitor and participate in the platform’s User Community message board
  • Host webinar trainings for advanced features
  • Provide trouble shooting support for users and work with internal team and developer to find a solution
  • Use tools created to track user adoption and identify gaps in training
  • Serve as a liaison between agencies, internal staff, and consultants to ensure reporting meets the needs of agencies
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity and quality
Ongoing System improvements
  • Gain deep working knowledge of Financial Coaching Salesforce Database system
  • Solicit user feedback for improvements to system, track and coordinate with internal staff and Salesforce developer to ensure improvements are incorporated into the system
  • Collaborate with United Way colleagues to identify additional uses for Salesforce database and support creation of new Community Impact modules, as needed
Program Knowledge
  • Understand the Financial Coaching program and needs of financial coaches

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A passion for working with vulnerable populations and supporting them to achieve financial stability and well-being
  • Interest in data management and the human services sector
  •  Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills
  • Ability to provide top notch customer service to colleagues internally as well as to our agency partners
  •  Ability to quickly learn to use new technology and software
  •  Ability to manage and support time-sensitive and complex projects and to problem-solve
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and hold oneself accountable for completing multiple tasks
  •  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience teaching, coaching or training is a plus
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Excited about technology and its impact, keeping abreast of industry trends and learning and adapting skill sets quickly
