General Description
This grant funded position provides direct clinical services -- predominantly individual and group counseling to children, adolescents and adults. Therapeutic intensity of service will be based on Licensure/Education; however, the primary focus will be on substance use disorders. Counselor may also provide required assessments, develop treatment plans and assist in coordinating the care for other identified needs. Most documentation will be completed within Burke’s Electronic Health Record. Accurate, timely, entry of documentation is paramount. Services will be provided in an outpatient setting following policy and procedures according to the CCBHC-e grant program. Counselor must be a recovery role model for clients in treatment. This position will be housed in Lufkin but may travel within our twelve (12) county region. This is a grant funded position that is funded for a limited time.

Education
Required: Associates degree with Substance Use focus of study.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or Counseling from an accredited college or university.

Experience
Preferred: At least one (1) year of full-time direct care experience working with adults or families, children, or adolescents in a community mental health/medical setting.

Licenses/Certifications
Required – Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor - Intern (LCDC-I), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC-I), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) or Licensed Master Social Worker currently working towards their LCSW, with the State of Texas. Individuals waiting to apply for licensure based on acquiring supervision will also be considered. 
Preferred: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the State of Texas.

Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke’s insurance administrator.

Hours
Monday – Friday; Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. After hours as necessary.

Salary
$27,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on licenses/qualifications and experience.
