NTV Houston is looking for a dynamic and creative multimedia journalist to carry on its mission of informing, engaging and connecting our audiences.

As a multimedia journalist, you will cover news and will be responsible for generating story ideas. The multimedia journalist must be able to develop and present reports and in a clear, concise and objective manner. S/he must be a team player with solid news judgment and must be able to develop original multimedia stories from conception to publication. S/he must be able to work independently with the camera, have the ability to write, edit video for their own story, and to interact with the viewers through all of NTV Houston media platforms.

Major Duties

-Produce, report and edit assigned stories daily, gather information, conduct interviews, shoot and edit video, performing in front and behind the camera

-Generate content for newscasts through a variety of contacts and social media channels

Required Skills

-Strong journalistic standards and ethics

-Proven storytelling ability across all platforms

-Functional to advanced knowledge in the use of field cameras, gear and editing systems

-Two to five years as a multimedia/video journalist in TV, performing in front and behind the camera

-Strong knowledge of computer-based video production and editing principles

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
