Closing Date: 8/15/2020Join the field of Correctional Health Dental Services! This part-time Dental Hygienist position works approximately 16 hours per week in the Dental Office at the South Dakota Women's Prison with other dental professionals providing comprehensive dental services to adult female inmates. Dental Hygienists work alongside the dentist and assistants performing a variety of dental services. Our programs and services help prevent illness and injury, provide education to help people make good health decisions; and support efforts to enhance quality and accessibility of healthcare.
Hours worked in this position is negotiable.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
Licenses and Certifications: 
The position requires licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Dakota and graduation from an accredited or board approved Dental Hygienist Program.
Questionnaire: Applicants will be required to answer a series of job-related questions when submitting an application for this job.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of:
  • basic principles of infection control;
  • identification and usage of the more common dental instruments;
  • usage and maintenance of common dental equipment;
  • preparation and usage of common dental materials;
  • dental self-care and patient instruction techniques.
