FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE
JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are hiring for a committed early childhood educator who brings a strong understanding of early childhood pedagogy and instructional practices in order to deliver high-quality and developmentally appropriate instruction to 3 and 4-year-old children. The PKP teacher is responsible for planning and implementing engaging, culturally-sensitive, and curriculum-aligned lesson plans in a PK classroom located in a community-based child development center. 
OVERVIEW OF THE PKP PROGRAM
United Way for Greater Austin (UWATX) operates a Success by 6/ AISD collaboration called Pre-K Partnerships. This partnership stewards funds from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through AISD to highly-rated local child development centers in order to provide high-quality early childhood education that ensures Kindergarten readiness for children in at-risk populations around Austin.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required
·        Current Texas EC-6 certification; OR
·        Bachelor’s degree in HDFS (Child Development); OR
·        Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and experience working in early childhood with a commitment to continue education in the area of early childhood; OR
·         Have Montessori certification through the Association of Montessori Internationale or Montessori Accreditation Council for teacher education; OR
·        At least 8 years experience in an NAEYC accredited child care program; OR
·        Have at least 3 credit hours of early childhood coursework and be currently enrolled in college-level, credit-bearing early childhood coursework or in a CDA course of study through an approved provider 
 
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with or caring for young children is preferred.

 
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to maintain effective positive classroom management strategies.

 WORKING CONDITIONS:
Services are provided within a standard early childhood classroom environment. Movement throughout the classroom is generally necessary to facilitate learning. Light lifting of materials and other objects associated with a classroom environment is required (up to approximately 20 to 40 lbs.). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
TEACHER SALARY
 
Hourly Rate $18 (if the CDC provides a benefits package)

Hourly Rate $20-$25 (without benefits options)

Substitute Job Posting:
JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing and implementing the daily routines and lesson plans according to the Child Development Center. Manage the classroom environment, provide activities, materials, and promote student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
EDUCATION:
A minimum of 60+ college credit hours or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. Substitute Teacher applicants must submit proof of an official accredited college transcript*
(showing the degree conferred or the minimum of 60+ college hours)
 
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with or caring for small children is preferred.
 
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
·        Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
·        General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
·        Ability to follow oral and written directions.
·        Ability to maintain effective positive classroom management strategies.

 WORKING CONDITIONS:
Services are generally provided within a standard early childhood classroom environment. Movement throughout the classroom is generally necessary to facilitate learning (e.g., standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, and/or kneeling). Light lifting of materials and other objects associated with a classroom environment is required (up to approximately 20 to 40 lbs.). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER SALARY
 
Daily Base Rate of Pay for Substitute Teachers
Part Time (4 hours): $50
Full Time (8 hours): $100
