Global Event Coordinator

Thinktown New York, the American-based division of Thinktown Education, is seeking a motivated Event Coordinator to work full-time in our New York office. The responsibilities of an Event Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
·     Coordinating and maintaining external relationships with students, parents, and event partners.
·     Coordinating and maintaining internal relationships with our education consultants, writing assistants, and product team
·     Support planning all event aspects from pre-event guides to set-up and tear-down, venue selection, booth / event design and décor, event layout and support collateral and gifts, etc.
·     Supporting building and adhering to an event budget to avoid project overruns.
·     Supporting and managing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, organizing vendors and activity tracking.
 
The ideal candidate applying for this position should have:
·     Experience in project follow-through, from conception to completion
·     Self-direction and motivation
·     Ability to change direction with skill and willingness when circumstances demand
·     Ability to anticipate event needs and respond accordingly
·     Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) and collaborate with a diverse group of people serving in a variety of job functions
·     Ability to be a successful relationship manager
·     Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills required
·     Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform non-routine work with changing priorities and collaborating parties
·     Project management experience and familiarity with project management systems
·     Experience handling, prioritizing and executing multiple projects accurately and provide high-quality results while maintaining a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment
·     Computer literacy including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and email required
·     Proficiency in Mandarin
