Clinical Nurse - LPN/LVN

As a Clinical Nurse you’ll maintain and administer medication to the children living in our Residential Treatment Home. You’ll be a vital member of our treatment care team that is helping kids from hard places heal from trauma, and prepare them for their next stop in child welfare. Your precise attention to detail, your compassion for hurting kids, and your ability to deal with a tougher population are key to helping these kids begin their journey toward a brighter future.
You'll have the unique opportunity to combine your health care experience with your passion for helping vulnerable children. This program is essential to Arrow's mission of Helping Kids & Strengthening Families, and as a nurse providing direct care to the children we serve, you'll be a vital part of fulfilling that mission. In addition to typical "nurse" responsibilities, you'll conduct admission screenings, monitor and document each child's health status and physical development, and you'll be an important member of the treatment teams for children. This is an opportunity to go beyond traditional health care to help children with special needs, and those who've been rescued from abuse or neglect.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
  • Sets priorities, plans, organizes, and directs care of assigned group of children.
  • Assesses students who appear to manifest health concerns, reports pertinent health information to family and/or physician, and follows-up on recommendations.
  • Serves as a resource person and consultant to staff and students, assists students and families to achieve optimal level of wellness through health education.
  • Performs nursing duties, including but not limited to, medication management, first aid, nebulizer treatments, and care of children with special needs.
  • Documents all student interventions, contact with students, teachers, staff, and outside providers/vendors; refers students to medical providers as deemed appropriate for further medical treatment.
  • Attends multidisciplinary meeting as needed to comply with students' health care plans. Maintains health records and confidentiality of all information pertinent to resident’s records and care.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required and at least 2 years’ experience as a Healthcare Provider, preferably in a residential setting. Current CPR and First Aid

Other Requirements
 
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proof of current Auto Registration, Inspection and Insurance.
  • Driving Record (three years) from the state in which the driver’s license is valid.
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must submit to and pass random drug tests during employment.
  • Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
