The Research Coordinator will coordinate research activities of intra and extramural scientists, including commercial sponsors, with research and veterinary resources in the SNPRC.
Role and Responsibilities:
Monitors and communicates project status to investigators and documents progress.
Develops and maintains study schedules with research and veterinary resources.
Assists veterinarians and scientists in developing research protocols using research animals.
Assists PIs and sponsors in developing budgets for research studies.
Assists in the preparation and amendment of Institutional Animal Care and Use applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:  Requires:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. The required major is Science or Liberal Arts. Requires two or more years of job specific experience. Two years research or project management experience in addition to a Bachelor's degree or zero years of experience in addition to a Master's degree. Ability to build and manage computer databases and spreadsheets required. This position requires an individual with excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to interact effectively with scientists, administrative personnel, veterinarians and technical staff. Preferred: Experience with MS Office and federal research grants and commercial contracts in the biomedical research environment. Research management experience preferred.
This is a full time hourly paid position Texas Biomed business hours are Mondays through Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Texas Biomed is committed to a drug-free workplace. Pre-employment drug screen is required.
