The Multimedia Journalist Intern is responsible for researching, planning, shooting, editing, producing, and delivering various stories and projects to share the mission of Austin Smiles for our 35th anniversary event. The video projects will be filmed and compiled using B-roll from trips, interviews from volunteers and other compelling oral history pieces. The Multimedia Journalist intern will work in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) and Communications Director, to organize and plan projects and the creative outline. He or she also, under the guidance and approval of the Communications Director, manages external communications for the organization including publicizing the work of the organization, and overseeing messaging to share the visual documentation of Austin Smiles programming.
Specific Videographer and Multimedia Journalist Responsibilities:
·     Help manage brand and Austin Smiles image through visual media
·     Collaborate and schedule oral history interviews with past volunteers
·     Develop captivating creative videos and storytelling strategies
·     Option to join Austin Smiles on medical mission trip to shoot medical mission trip video
Experience:
·     Familiar with professional cameras and sound equipment, different lenses, various HD and SD formats, preproduction/planning, lighting, storyboarding, and editing software such as Adobe Premiere
·     2+ years’ experience in shooting and producing video projects
