Job Description:
Summary of Responsibility
In keeping with the Mission/Vision/Values of Centerstone, a Therapist provides group and individual therapy to promote personal growth and resiliency in the form of emotional, cognitive, behavioral and/or psychological changes in clients with a primary mental health diagnosis and/or substance use diagnoses.  This includes performing continuing assessment of the client’s needs and functioning, maintenance of appropriate documentation and development and implementation of personal growth plans consistent with the client’s therapeutic needs. A Therapist is required to use independent discretion and judgment when providing services to clients.  As part of Centerstone’s team-oriented philosophy, a Therapist is expected to actively participate in variety of cross-functional teams and performance improvement initiatives. Therapists provide clinical supervision if in good standing/at supervisor’s discretion.
Qualifications: This position requires a Master’s Degree in Human Services and demonstrated skill in performing clinical services, IL LCWS, LCPC, or other relevant licensure. Must have valid driver’s license in applicable programs. Providers utilizing electronic health records and/or other automated/electronic documentation systems are required to have computer and keyboarding experience and skills or the ability to develop such skills within required timeframes in order to meet the level of proficiency set by the agency.  Direct Service Providers utilizing electronic/automated documentation systems may be required to undergo a computer and keyboarding assessment test to determine proficiency.
A Master’s level Therapist must meet Qualified Mental Health Professional status in relevant programs. All employees in the Therapist position must successfully complete required background checks and pre-employment screening.
