Social Media & Design Assistant

Summary: Part-time Social Media & Design Assistant provides a wide variety of social media, design, and administrative support to the director, staff, and volunteers to support all programs and events.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Graphic design of marketing materials including promotional items, training manuals, and more
  • Create, schedule, and post engaging social media content across all platforms
  • Design and compile weekly and quarterly email newsletters
  • Respond to program inquiries via phone and email, handling requests independently or funneling to appropriate person in the organization
  • Attend and/or moderate 2-3 Power for Parkinson’s classes per week
  • General assistance with fundraising and events
  • Provide general support for director, staff, volunteers, and board of directors.

Qualifications & skills:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. 
  • Highly organized, responsible self-starter with prior experience in administrative support, preferably in the nonprofit arena.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Extensive computer and software skills including Microsoft Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, iMovie, and Wix
  • Familiarity with all forms of social platforms, especially Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Zoom
  • Ability to work with diverse staff, volunteers, and program participants. Experience working with older adults preferred.
  • Flexible with the ability to “think on your feet” and be comfortable with a rapidly changing environment and a variety of tasks.
  • Compassionate and passionate, with a true desire to help people.

This is an hourly, part-time position that will vary between 10-20 hours per week. The position is currently remote, but will require office hours when normal business operations resume. Must have general availability Monday through Friday between 9am-4pm, although working hours will vary within those times. Occasional evenings and weekends will be required, especially during fundraising and events season.
