Human Resources Intern Lake Granbury Medical Center- Fall

Lake Granbury Medical Center is a 73 bed hospital located in Granbury, Texas. LGMC is part of Community Health Systems, a leading national healthcare company that operates or leases 126 hospitals in 20 states.
The Human Resources Department is located on LGMC campus and currently has 4 employees that service over 600 employees. The HR Department is looking for a HR Intern for the 2020 fall semester. We are flexible with work schedules whether the intern can work part-time or full-time— full time is preferred though. Our interns assist with the onboarding of new hires, New Hire Orientation, hospital and employee engagement events, and special projects including in the past wage surveys, recruitment planning, survey creation, and more. Interns also are provided the opportunity to shadow both the HR Generalist and HR Director for employment offers, benefits, recruitment techniques, Taleo processing (Applicant Tracking System) and multiple meetings. This internship is unpaid but given the broad amount of tasks our interns are responsible for, this could count as college credit.
 
To qualify for this internship, candidates need to be currently enrolled in a HR or Business Administration degree program at either a 2 year college or 4 year university or recently graduated from a HR program. Candidates should have some knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within HR as well. More in depth knowledge of HR laws and policies will be provided to interns as needed once they start. It is preferred that candidates have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as Google Docs and Google Forms. Internships will last a minimum of 3 months.
