BCW PR Internship (Austin) - Fall 2020, REMOTE

The Team
BCW Austin’s client roster includes some of the world’s most recognized brands. The semester-long internship enables interns to support a variety of earned media activities while developing real-world skills for a future career in marketing communications. NOTE: This internship program is only applicable to BCW’s Austin, Texas office and will be a remote internship to ensure the health and safety of interns.

The Role:
The typical day for a BCW Austin intern may include:
  • Writing press materials
  • Tracking and compiling client media coverage reports
  • Building media lists and drafting media pitches
  • Pitching to the media and influencers
  • Identifying and vetting digital influencers for specific client campaigns
  • Supporting social media channels by monitoring and creating content
  • Conducting online research and audits on clients, competitors and industry trends
  • Researching editorial opportunities and providing analysis
  • Developing internal and client meeting notes and recaps
  • Participating in client and new business brainstorms
  • Meet with supervisor on a regular basis to discuss goals and performance


Requirements

  • Strong research and writing skills as well as working knowledge of digital media practices
  • Interest in public relations, communications, business/marketing, digital/social media, research and analytics, and/or cultural trends
  • Undergraduates at the rising junior level and above OR graduate students in a related field (MUST be in a degree program)
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday and 20 hours per week
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Pay Rate
Paid internship ($14/hour)
