Project Manager, Post Production & Technology
We are looking for a Manager, Digital Technology & Metadata who will be uniquely positioned in helping define the transition from traditional broadcast to the video distribution systems that will shape the industry well into the 21st century. As part of a new team of technologists reshaping the industry and building the future for FOX, you will report into the Director of Technology Architecture and will be tightly aligned with the upstream and downstream architects, technology developers, and business analysts from other teams that are defining this new space. In this position you will not only be the glue which holds together current data models and architectures, but you will also have the forward-leaning role of collaborating with partners, vendors, and stakeholders envisioning and defining the future.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep custody of FOX Broadcast and operational data models through constant maintenance, insight gathering, and periodic evaluations
- Interact with external and internal metadata providers, upstream business stakeholders, downstream data analysts, and architecture teams
- Maintain data APIs throughout the ecosystem
- Guarantee quality of data aggregation and curation for downstream stakeholders
- Collaborate with technical teams in support of the data flows in the FOX playout systems
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Demonstrated hands-on experience translating detailed data models into efficient APIs
- Extensive knowledge of data modeling and expressing and applying best practices
- Desired experience with descriptive and prescriptive metadata in television broadcast distribution chains and OTT
- Ability to communicate successfully across different levels of the organization
- Knowledge of data frameworks and technologies
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar degree with 5-10 years of experience
- 5+ years of experience in creating, aggregating, normalizing, maintaining, and expanding data models
- 5+ years of experience in cognitive data science and analytics
- 3+ years of experience in a senior role within a data science team
- Proven track record of applied research and product experience in the aforementioned areas
- Strong team player capable of effectively communicating technical decisions and trade-offs to stake holders at multiple levels of the organization
- Solid understanding of data science and data modeling
