Political Theory Internship - Fall 2020

Hudson Institute seeks an intern to work on research projects related to political theory, as well as topics including American politics, government regulation, and philosophy. This intern will also assist with administering Hudson Institute Political Studies' 2021 Summer Fellowship (see www.hudsonpoliticalstudies.org).
Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong interest in political theory and philosophy and have familiarity with classic works of ancient and modern political philosophy (for example Plato's Republic, Machiavelli's The Prince and Locke's Second Treatise on Government) as well as works of American political thought such as The Federalist and Alexis de Tocqueville's Democracy in America. Applicants should also be willing to perform organizational and operational tasks, including database work, and program outreach.
Applicants should possess rigorous research abilities and strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. More important than a comprehensive knowledge of any particular topic is an enthusiasm to learn and a willingness to work hard. Dependability and attention to detail are essential. Interns may work both independently and as members of a team.
