Lead Installer

We are looking for a Lead Installer is to work with the Design & Implementation Engineers to build and test systems as designed. This role will support the full process of deploying new broadcast projects, from conception to production. The role will assist with planning, scheduling and coordinating activities within the Implementation team to ensure that the system documentation and installation instructions are carried out accurately and on time and that the delivered product meet or exceed client expectations.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Updates or creates system documentation where appropriate
  • Follows Fox standards for installation practices
  • Pulling cable, building and testing cable assemblies
  • Installation of equipment into racks and consoles
  • Coaching Installers on best practices
  • Estimate work durations, resourcing, materials
  • Monitor installation progress and estimate completion of installation tasks
  • Attend Design Reviews with the design engineers and stakeholders of the project
  • Assists in system testing to assure system build integrity
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure the successful implementation of a project
  • Plan and schedule installation milestones
  • Manage changes to project design
  • Ensure that systems are installed, documented properly and on time in accordance with FOX’s standards
  • Communicate with Design Engineers, Managers and/or Project Managers to resolve design discrepancies or issues
  • Keep all stakeholders updated on installation progress and identify any risks to project timelines
  • Responsible for the Maintenance and inventory of company-owned Tools

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years of successful experience installing broadcast systems in 24/7 live on-air environments
  • Ability to take responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision
  • Mechanical aptitude and solid knowledge of broadcast infrastructure
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as elevation drawings, connection drawings, cable details and run lists
  • Ability to perform detailed work and being thorough in completing tasks
  • Demonstrated self-composure and high tolerance for stress and unquestionable integrity
  • Ability to work well with others and coach other engineers displaying a supportive attitude
  • Available to work overtime, weeknights and/or weekends when required
  • Strong communication Skills
  • Ability to work effectively across different projects and lead install teams
  • Strong ability to work under tight timeline’s and in a sensitive on-air environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience leading broadcast install teams and installing broadcast and IT equipment
  • Experience building all types of cable assemblies including fiber optics
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • May be required to work in hot, cold or cramped spaces
  • Must be able to stand, kneel or crouch for long periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders or scaffolding
