INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:
Supporting staff engagement in and strategic communications about EngenderHealth’s global strategic plan
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to updating and implementing the communications strategy supporting EngenderHealth’s global strategic plan, potentially including:
  • Assessing the need for updated or new communications materials, products and activities to inform and engage donors, partners and staff in EngenderHealth’s strategic plan.
 
Addressing identified needs by:
  • Helping to update or create new communications products
  • In coordination with country and technical teams, helping to plan a series of webinars and related activities and events over the course of FY21
  • Coordinating with EH’s Communications & Marketing team to strategically highlight elements of the Strategic Plan in social media and other external communications
  • Otherwise helping to update EngenderHealth’s Strategic Plan communications strategy, with a focus on strategizing ways to promote employee engagement and exchange
  • Support roll-out activities of EngenderHealth’s updated intranet
  • Other duties as assigned
 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s degree program (public health, international relations, organizational development preferred).
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information effectively
  • Interest in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender equality
  • French language helpful
  • Must be comfortable and respectful of EngenderHealth’s programming that promotes comprehensive sexual and reproductive rights, gender equality, sexual diversity and LGBTQ rights.
 
DURATION AND LOCATION OF THE INTERNSHIP: 
  • The internship will last approximately 8 weeks and ideally would commence by July 20, 2020, with an opportunity to extend dependent upon need. 
  • The time commitment for this internship is 15- 20 hours per week.
  • The position is based at EngenderHealth, Washington DC, but due to COVID-19, this will be a remote work based position.
COMPENSATION: 
  • This will be an unpaid internship or academic credit
